Quiet Waters Park offers an innovative Rent-A-Tent campground where you can rent a site with a tent or tepee already set up. Each of these 27 sites has a platform, and the campground fee includes running water, fire ring, picnic table, grill, and electricity. There are restrooms and shower facilities. Campers can take advantage of these other amenities available at this 431.4-acre park, including Splash Adventure (an interactive children’s water playground), a lake for Ski Rixen (cable water-skiing), mountain bike trails, a skate park, and a variety of boats for rent. Fishing is permitted on the shores of the park’s several lakes (State of Florida fishing rules and regulations apply). All Broward County regional parks and nature centers, including water parks and campgrounds, and all natural areas will be open on Friday, September 2, and Monday, September 5, with the exceptions of the Markham Park Target Range and Deerfield Island Park, which will be closed on both days. AllGolf at C.B. Smith Park, Butterfly World at Tradewinds Park, the tennis centers at Brian Piccolo and C.B. Smith parks, and Ski Rixen USA at Quiet Waters Park will also be open on both Friday, September 2, and Monday, September 5. The Parks and Recreation administrative offices and all neighborhood parks will be closed on both days. All parks will be open during their regularly scheduled hours on Saturday, September 3, and Sunday, September 4.

Dogs must be at least 5 months old and have a current Broward County rabies tag. No aggressive dogs will be allowed. Basic dog obedience commands will be covered (to the beat of your favorite tunes) including sit, stay, down, and come; as well as how to walk on a leash and how to greet/behave with other dogs and people. One adult handler per dog. On the first day of class, meet in the parking lot by the park’s management office. Bring a nylon buckle collar, a six-foot leash (no retractable leashes), and a bag of treats in small pieces. A new dog, whether it just came from a breeder, the pet store, or a shelter, needs time to transition to their new home. Training, using positive methods, makes that transition easier for both the dog and his new family. The programs offered include the following: basic obedience, puppy preschool and puppy proofing your home, obedience, canine good citizen evaluations, basic natural dog care, nutrition and communication, full service dog walking, and pet-sitting services.
