Broward Alliance meets April 21
John Rhodes, Senior Principal of Moran, Stahl & Boyer (MS&B), author of The Broward Alliance’s new “National Competitive Ranking Assessment Report for Headquarters
Marketing and Recruitment” will be the featured speaker at The Broward Alliance’s Spring Quarterly Meeting to be held April 21, 2009.
Mr. Rhodes will share insights into how Broward County stacks up against twelve other U.S. regions in the fierce competition to attract new jobs and business investment for headquarter operations. The report was commissioned by The Broward Alliance’s CEO Council. MS&B is well-known as an economic development consultant working with communities throughout North America to prepare them for future success in the retention, expansion, attraction and start-up of companies. In addition to presenting the report, The Broward Alliance will recognize companies expanding in Broward County and report on its initiatives to strengthen and diversify Broward’s economy.
The Broward Alliance will also be presenting its “Educational Excellence Builds Business” Award. The “Educational Excellence Builds Business” campaign was launched in 2006 by The Education-Workforce Development Committee of The Broward Alliance. It is designed to significantly enhance perceptions of business decision makers about the quality of Broward’s PreK-20 education system and tout the quality of Broward’s workforce. The campaign also provides collateral material on Broward’s public and private schools, its innovative programs and corporate partnerships, and online data and information through The Broward Alliance’s website. Additionally, the campaign showcases South Florida’s “world-class” faculty and recognizes educators who are nationally or internationally known in their fields, and companies who have contributed to improving education in Broward County.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel, 1825 Griffin Road, Dania Beach. Registration, networking, and continental breakfast will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and the program will be from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. To register, please go to www.browardalliance.org.
