Fort Lauderdale, FL,– The South Florida Hospitality Industry unites for the holidays, with at least seven associations participating in an industry-wide collaboration to not only kick start the holiday season but also raise funds for charity and network with colleagues.  Hosted by the Museum of Discovery & Science on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 7pm, the event features attendees from the South Florida chapters of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI), International Special Events Society (ISES), National Association for Catering and Events (NACE), SITE Florida and the National Association of Wedding Professionals (NAWP). 

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Museum of Discovery & Science Children’s Opportunity Fund, which subsidizes admission and program fees for low-income children so they can receive the same science experience as their classmates. Approximately 35,000 of the Museum’s visiting schoolchildren are funded by the Opportunity Fund.
