Miami – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Six, has scheduled a public hearing regarding the proposed improvements to the State Road (SR) 968/SW 1 Street Bascule Bridge over Miami River from SW 5 Avenue to SW 2 Avenue in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The hearing will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 111 NW 1 Street, 18 Floor, Room 18-4, Miami, FL 33128. The hearing will begin as an open house, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m.
This hearing is being held to allow interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social, economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements to the SW 1 Street Bascule Bridge. The study includes evaluation of rehabilitation and replacement alternatives that address safety and operational functionality and.
The draft project documents, along with other pertinent information developed by the FDOT, will be available for public review from Tuesday, November 20, 2012 to Tuesday, December 11, 2012, excluding major holidays, at the following locations: FDOT, 1000 NW 111 Avenue, Room 6251, Miami, FL 33172, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday and the Hispanic Branch Library, 1398 SW 1 Street, Miami, FL 33135 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and from 12 noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. These materials will also be available at the hearing site from 6 p.m. until the end of the hearing. Persons desiring to submit written statements and other exhibits, in place of or in addition to oral statements, may do so at the hearing or by sending them to Ms. Bao-Ying Wang, P.E. at FDOT District Six, 1000 NW 111 Avenue, Room 6251, Miami, FL 33172. All exhibits or statements postmarked no later than November 18, 2012 will become a part of the hearing record.
