DEERFIELD BEACH – On Friday, December 7th, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Deerfield Beach are welcoming the public to celebrate the stunning transformation of the entrance to the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin promptly at 6 PM, with the Grand Opening Reception to follow. Sunset is scheduled shortly before the Grand Opening Ceremony.
The project was funded by the Deerfield Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), designed by Garcia Stromberg Architecture, and brought to life by Stiles Construction. The new, soon to be completed, facility further establishes the Pier as the community’s treasured icon. The restaurant, bait shop, elevated deck, beach access, and public restrooms located at the entry to the pier will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for decades to come. The project is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold certification, a prestigious designation by the U.S. Green Building Council to structures that meet certain environmental requirements. The event is free and open to the public.
The facilities at the entrance to the 976-foot Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier attract thousands of visitors each year, including residents, anglers, tourists, surfers, volleyball players, and environmental enthusiasts. The city’s overhaul of the entry to the fishing pier has created a new, very attractive gathering spot for all to enjoy.
