“Spins You Round” Brings on the Glam Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Art and Culture Center of Hollywood

The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood will celebrate  80s rock club culture at its Fifth Annual Hot Hollywood Glam fund-raiser,  Spins You Round,  which occurs from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Spins You Round  will transform the Center s contemporary art galleries at 1650 Harrison Street with stylized d cor, grand flower arrangements and illuminated bars. Guests will experience three new contemporary exhibitions, flowing libations (including a specialty cocktail the  Kamikaze ) from Southern Wine & Spirits, exquisite eats by Artisan Foods, and a  Glam  dessert bar by Brio Tuscan Grille, Rudy s Pub and Restaurant, and Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. The night will also include music by DJ Party Train, performance art by acclaimed body painter Georgette Pressler, and a silent auction featuring vacation getaways and restaurant certificates.

Sponsors and Platinum Level guests receive access to “Club Hollywood,” an exclusive area with an open bar, specialty hors d’oeuvres created just for the  Club s  guests, and an after-party featuring champagne, cordials, liqueurs, and assorted chocolate-covered fruit from Edible Arrangements.

Partygoers will enjoy the main gallery exhibition, Elisabeth Condon: The Seven Seas, which will accentuate the  80s club vibe with new two-dimensional works inspired by the music scene in Los Angeles, circa 1974-81. Condon was a regular in L.A. clubs at that time, when performers such as Iggy Pop, Joan Jett, and Belinda Carlisle were re-making the landscape of American music. In addition to Condon s glittering works, guests will see exhibitions by Millree Hughes and Peter Boyd McLean (Lummox); Antonia Wright and Ruben Millares (Love on an Escalator); and Rosemarie Chiarlone and Susan Weiner (Obstruction).

This rock-glam event will recognize Ben Wesley, the External Affairs Manager at Florida Power & Light, for his ongoing support of South Florida and the Center.
