ROCKIN’ BREAKFAST TO CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF CARING
Thursday, August 23 Event to Honor Organization Founders and Major Supporters
(Miami, FL)—— Lynne Cameron, Executive Director, Neighbors 4 Neighbors announced today that attorney Russel Lazega, of Florida Insurance Advocates (a private law firm), has committed to be the Presenting Sponsor of the organization’s 20th Anniversary Rockin’ Breakfast at the Hard Rock Café at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 23, at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. This celebration will recognize 20 major founders and supporters who over the past 20 years have made it possible for WFOR-TV, CBS4’s Neighbors 4 Neighbors, a non-profit organization created in 1992 in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew, to continue to connect those in need with those who can help.
“Neighbors 4 Neighbors is a South Florida institution that I am proud to support,” said Lazega, an attorney who represents accident victims and consumers with insurance disputes. “Their work for the past 20 years proves that people in South Florida have big hearts; not only after a disaster but every single day, rain or shine.”
“After 20 years, Neighbors 4 Neighbors proves that people want to help others throughout the year,” said Cameron. “Our organization is based on people giving back and we are grateful to Mr. Lazega of Florida Insurance Advocates, who has generously helped to underwrite our anniversary celebration.”
During the breakfast, Neighbors 4 Neighbors will honor and recognize 20 outstanding individuals and organizations which have helped guide and nurture Neighbors 4 Neighbors through the devastating hurricane and beyond.

Neighbors 4 Neighbors was originally created in 1992 in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew by WFOR-TV, CBS4. The relief effort, “Rebuilding: Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” consisted of a 15-line phone bank, staffed 18 hours daily with volunteers and station personnel. The response was overwhelming and as South Florida recovered, CBS4 management opted to continue Neighbors as part of its community service program.
