New Community Bus Service in Ft. Lauderdale

The South Florida Regional Transportation Authority (SFRTA) / Tri-Rail, has partnered with the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association (TMA) to provide a free community bus service for the City of Fort Lauderdale.  The “Tri-Rail Northwest Community Link” will provide service to Tri-Rail’s Fort Lauderdale Station, BCT’s Broward Central Terminal, and to the communities of Hillmont Heights, Lauderdale Manors and Lauderdale Villas.

The bus is part of the Sun Trolley service fleet provided by the TMA, and promises to provide the community with better  access to transportation hubs and community centers, including the African-American Research Library and Downtown Fort Lauderdale.

As with other Sun Trolley routes, the “Tri-Rail Northwest Community Link” is wheelchair-accessible and features bicycle racks on all buses.  Service runs from Monday through Friday beginning at 5:30 a.m., and runs until 7:00 p.m., and is free for all patrons.
