Woman rescued from Coral Springs canal; with 911 audio

A Coral Springs resident was rescued from her vehicle after it ended up in canal located at the 10000 block of NW 29 Street.

At approximately 4:41am the Coral Springs Police Department received a 911 call from  Eva K. Rubino, 76, of Coral Springs          advising that her vehicle was sinking in a canal and she was trapped inside. Rubino provided dispatch with her location during the 911 call.  Officers responded to the area and located Rubino’s 2001 white Hyundai fully submerged in a canal with her trapped inside.  Several officers formed a chain while other officers entered the canal to rescue Rubino.  Officers used a center punch to break a window of the vichle in order to rescue Rubino from inside.  Once removed, Coral Springs Fire Rescue treated Rubino.

Rubino was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center where she is currently listed in stable condition.
