Palm Beach teen killed in Coral Springs motorcycle wreck

A West Palm Beach resident was killed late yesterday morning when the motorcycle he was riding struck a vehicle.

At approximately 11:30am yesterday morning, Michael Ferraz Lanzoni, 17, of Palm Beach was traveling east on Wiles Road around the 9000 block when his motorcycle struck a 2005 Ford Escape driven by Andrea Baigorria, 21, of Coral Springs.  Baigorria was traveling west on Wiles Road attempting to turn south into the parking lot of 9000 Wiles Road when Lanzoni struck her vehicle.  The impact caused Lanzoni to be ejected from the motorcycle landing on the windshield of a vehicle that was parked at 9300 Wiles Road and then coming to rest in the bushes.

Lanzoni was pronounced dead at the scene and Baigorria was transported to Coral Springs Medical Center where she was treated and released for minor injuries.

Witnesses advised that Lanzoni was traveling at a high rate of speed and riding recklessly just before the crash.  Lanzoni was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash is still under investigation, if anyone has any information they should contact Officer Eric Schuster of the Coral Springs Police Department Traffic Unit at
