Crooks bust through wall to steal car electronics

BSO detectives are on the trail of a group of burglars who broke into a business and busted through a wall to get into the neighboring unit to steal car electronics.

The intended target of the crime, Worldwide Car Accessories, had been targeted by burglars about a month ago, so their newly installed cameras were rolling as at least four men arrived at 1231 Stirling Road in Dania Beach. BSO detectives say the white van that first appears in the video with the logo “PCI” was stolen by the men to commit this crime.

After the first burglary, Worldwide installed an iron gate at the front door, so the suspects broke into unit 103, Hydyne Motorsports. Hydyne recently moved into the location, so their warehouse was empty. The burglars proceeded to break through the sheetrock in their bathroom to get into Worldwide. The cameras inside the warehouse caught the men searching through boxes, apparently looking for specific items. In all, the group stole about $25,000 in car electronics.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects or has information about the burglary is asked to contact BSO Detective Christopher De Giovanni at 954-926-3270. Anonymous callers can submit their information to Crime Stoppers by calling 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
