Man fires into girlfriend’s apartment in Lauderdale Lakes- suspect sought

A moment of rage almost turned a domestic dispute into a murder scene. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives want to catch up with the suspect before his violence turns deadly.

The couple, 19-year-old Jasmine Weaver and her baby’s father, 20-year-old Stanley Martin Jr., was going through a break-up. Martin Jr. went to Weaver’s apartment in the early morning hours of December 3 and got into a discussion with her about the status of their relationship. At around 2 a.m. Weaver called 911 stating Martin Jr. was banging on the door and climbing around in the attic. BSO deputies were dispatched to the scene. At around 2:05 a.m. the BSO Communications Center updated deputies with details from another caller who stated hearing gunshots near the location of the reported domestic dispute.

Deputies arrived at Weaver’s apartment and found seven shell casings on the floor in front of the apartment and as many bullet holes in the door. Bullet impacts were found throughout the inside of the apartment and one bullet was found lodged in the wall of the closet Weaver was hiding in.

BSO Abuse and Neglect Detective Jonathan Lawrence, who works on identifying domestic abuse cases likely to escalate to fatalities, obtained a warrant for Martin Jr.’s arrest and believes he’s armed and dangerous. Martin Jr. is currently on probation for drug charges and faces a charge of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Martin Jr. is a black male, measuring 5’6” in height, weighing 140 lbs., of stocky build, and has a low-cut afro, brown eyes and multiple tattoos on both arms.
