Light up Lauderdale-Family Fun Zone tonight!
The Riverwalk Trust is hosting its first annual Family Fun Zone as part of it’s annual Light Up Lauderdale event. Featuring live music,
children’s activities, cultural attractions, a boat tour, food vendors and much more. This free, twilight party acts as a connector to the cultural, historic, business and natural attractions along the downtown core and Riverwalk Park. The Family Fun Zone is sponsored by the Riverwalk Trust and the City of Fort Lauderdale.
This event will be hosted on Sunday, December 20th from 4-7pm in Esplanade Park. Public Parking is available along S. 2nd Street and NW 4th Ave; metered street parking is also available. The Family Fun Zone is free of charge.
Community partners include an interactive craft area featuring area attractions including: Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Museum of Discovery and Science, Fort Lauderdale Historical Center, Mailman Segal Institute and Museum of Art. Play activities will feature a bounce house, provided by the Broward Sheriff’s Foundation; air slide, provided by the Continental Group and a boat tour of lights along the New River, provided by Best Boat Rental. Cast your vote for the Best in Lights People’s Choice Award for the best building or display within Light Up Lauderdale.
Clear Channel Radio’s Y100 will be onsite with promotions and give-aways and a DJ and storyteller will entertain the Fun Zone attendees with storytelling, games and dancing. Food vendors include Cold Stone Creamery, Holy Mackeral Beer, SunKorn Concessions, Tarpon Bend Bar, hot beverages by Brew and more.
Additionally, the entire park will be lit with colorfully themed displays and visitors are encouraged to stroll under the lights for a complete evening of holiday cheer. For complete details visit www.LightUpLauderdale.com or call The Riverwalk Trust at 954-468-1541.
