Humane Society of Broward hosts “Reading to the Dogs” program.

The Davie program with four scheduled dates that began in October has had a great turnout. The next session is Thursday, December 17, 2009, at 4 p.m. with one more scheduled on January 21, 2010.

readingtodogs.jpgChildren ages 6-12 years of age are invited to join certified animal assisted therapy and education dogs to read their favorite animal story to them. These gentle specially gifted animals are accompanied by their human companions who are volunteers with the Humane Society. There is no charge for this event, and snacks will be available.

The program will take place on the campus of the Old Davie School Historical Museum located at 6650 Griffin Road in Davie. For more information, contact Patti Koch at 954-797-1044.
