BSO looking for feedback on response to 911 calls

If you have had to dial 911 recently, the Broward Sheriff’s Office is asking you to take a moment and evaluate the performance of the person who answered your call. An easy-to-find and simple-to-use online citizen opinion survey now allows residents to tell BSO what they think of the Communications Dispatch Center and how it is serving the people of Broward County.

The Communications Citizen Opinion Survey can be found at on BSO’s website at www.sheriff.org/citizensurvey. The six survey questions have multiple choice answers to determine whether the caller has called BSO’s Communications Dispatch Center in the past year, what type of device was used to make the call, how the caller would rate the Communications Dispatch Center, the competency, attitude and behavior of the person who answered the call, and whether the call was answered in a timely manner. Participants may also add recommendations or suggestions for improvement. They are then asked a few demographic questions with multiple choice answers. The entire process takes just a minute or two.

Survey results will be reviewed by the head of BSO’s Communications Division and its staff. Results will also be presented to the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) assessors when they visit BSO’s Communications Dispatch Center to do an on-site assessment during the beginning of 2010.
