Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center on the Huizenga Family Campus, 920 NW 7th Avenue, in Fort Lauderdale. The event is co-chaired by Charlene Bender, VP of SunTrust Bank, Roberta Stanley, partner in the law firm of Brinkley, Morgan, Solomon, Tatum, Stanley, Lunny & Crosby, LLB, Judy Stern, Judith Stern Consulting, Inc. and Coutney Crush, Esq., Crushlaw, PA.

There is no admission charge because our Celebrity Waiters look forward to collecting large “tips” for their excellent service. Attendees who purchase their “BPHI Tip” money prior to the event are able to precede directly to the “Fun Pass Lane” the morning of the event thereby by-passing the registration line. Seating is limited to 200 guests. To become a sponsor or make a reservation go to www.bphi.org/calendar.shtml or contact Berne Teeple, Director of Development at 954-832-7037 or bteeple@bphi.org

A very important part of the event is the presentation of the annual “Champion of the Homeless Award” that recognizes a member of the Downtown community who has provided support and volunteer services to BPHI.  This year’s recipient is Bank of America. BPHI also presents a Special Recognition Award to an individual or organization that has provided assistance to the homeless. This year’s award winner is the Las Olas River House Social Committee.

The Breakfast for Champions of the Homeless is co-sponsored by the Downtown Development Authority and the Downtown Council and Beach Council of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce.

Broward Partnership for the Homeless, Inc. (BPHI), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, is committed to reducing homelessness in Broward County.  The organization operates the Broward County Central Homeless Assistance Center on the Huizenga Family campus, a 200-bed emergency housing facility for homeless men, women and families with children.
