Fall Festival = Family Fun

Bring the whole family to the City’s Fall Festival on Saturday, October 24, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Welleby Park (11100 NW 44 Street). This fun, all-ages event will feature games, a costume contest, arts and crafts, and face painting. You can also pick and decorate a pumpkin from our old fashioned pumpkin patch. (Pumpkins vary in price according to size.)

The cost for participation is just $5 for Sunrise residents and $10 for non-residents. Parents who don’t participate in the activities are admitted free. Registration by Monday, October 19, is required. For more information, call (954) 747-4600.

Feeling Overwhelmed? Attend our Caregiving Workshop on November 4
Are you responsible for the care of someone age 60 or over? Are you feeling overwhelmed with responsibilities? Find out how to take better care of yourself at The Caregiving Workshop – Wednesday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sunrise Senior Center (10650 West Oakland Park Boulevard). There’s no cost to attend, and bagels and coffee will be served.
The Caregiving Workshop – and a twice-monthly support group for caregivers – is presented in partnership with Jewish Family Service of Broward County. In addition to offering the camaraderie of your peers, and the expert guidance of a social worker, the program provides information about valuable resources – including respite care.
To register for the November 4 workshop, or to inquire about the ongoing support group, please call (954) 746-3670.
