FTL Police investigating armed robbery
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred on June 3, 2009 at approximately 11:04 P.M. The robbery took place at the Express Food Store, which is located at 3306 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the business was getting ready to close for the night when a black male suspect approached the store clerk with a handgun from behind. The suspect demanded that the clerk hand over money. As the first suspect was going through the victim’s pockets, an older model blue Ford Crown Victoria pulled behind the victim and a second suspect exited the vehicle. The second suspect was armed with what appeared to be an assault rifle. He proceeded to attempt and rob another victim outside of the store. Both suspects then entered the Crown Victoria and fled the area.
The first suspect has been described as a black male armed with a handgun. The second suspect was described as a Latin male armed with what appeared to be an assault rifle.
