Name of Dania Beach murder victim released

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man who was fatally shot in Dania Beach Friday night.

The victim is 23-year-old Garnie Dunning III of Dania Beach. Shortly before 9 p.m. on April 10, BSO deputies discovered Dunning’s lifeless body after receiving a 911 call regarding shots fired in the area of 9 SW 8 Avenue.

BSO homicide detectives are trying to determine what Dunning was doing just before he was shot multiple times not far from the home he shared with his mother.

Very few details are known about Dunning’s death or his assailant.
